Just got a new friend and she needs a name. She's so itty bitty, about 3 inches long. Any ideas on a good name?

Are you sure that it isn't simply the white pollen falling from the flowers? Can't really tell anything from the images, but from what I can deduce from your description, that's what I would guess. The location of this dreaded white funk doesn't seem right for mealybugs.

Repot it in a larger pot....4-6". The vrisea species need bright light and keep the soil slightly moist. GOOD air circulation is a must!

Yep, budding, 5 in a bundle, photo from today. Suspected a parvifolia and a past contributer suggested one of these three; 'Acto-goyo' 'Brevifolia' 'Adcock's Dwarf' I'm leaning towards the 'Acto-goyo' but what do I know(?) other than I like it and now have to decide the best conditions on where to plant.

That's good news. When I rescued Mia we did all the tests and she tested negative for heart worms. So she was started on the preventative. We brought her a few weeks later for blood work before spaying. She tested lightly positive so we had to delay spay and go through the dreaded heart worm treatment. Vet said she likely was just infected the first test but not enough to register. Boy it is very difficult to keep a little puppy quiet and still! Everything went well and she was able to get spayed.

How adorable is THAT?! If she were a boy, I'd have to suggest Spike. LOL! Generally, I tend to gravitate toward 'oddball' names like 'Sticky Wicket' or 'Dinsdale'. 'Urchin'? Maybe something from Alice in Wonderland? 'Tweedledee'? 'Jabberwocky'?

There are, of course, the obvious choices... 'Piglet', 'Needles', 'Sonic', 'Prickles', 'Prickly-pear', 'Velcro'... those have all prob'ly been 'done' to death. 8-]

Ah, gee, I was gonna name her Sophie. The older male, DOB 12/23/04, I named Owie Howie Stickerpants.
