I love the idea too. Not silly or morbid. I know this isn't exactly the same thing, but when we moved from our little mountain house to our current house I wrote my kids names in a secret place in their bedroom. I was a bit heartbroken to be moving from the home I brought my babies home to. So In a hidden place in their room I left their names and the dates we lived there. I felt better knowing a piece of them would be there as long as the house was. They felt better about it too. It's our little secret.

I "might" do this with Microsoft Moviemaker..ivamae...I am using XP and that is a program on my computer. I think if you have Roxio or some other CD burner, you can do that sort of thing also..I'm just familiar with Moviemaker. I have a site saved that tells how to do a DVD with powerpoint. I haven't looked over that site, but I intend to before I make my final move on doing this...right now, I am just assembling pictures. I think if you googlied powerpoint to DVD, you would come up with some answers. And...if all else fails, the funeral home I will be going to will do it for you if you have your pictures or your pictures on a disc. I like the idea of the Over the Rainbow song also...I love that rendition of it. The one I saw had about fifty pictures and it was just about the right length (you don't want to bore everyone :o) I have about thirty in a file now. Here is what I was referring to in the link below. This CO2 generator is rated for a 15' x 15' room. The BTU rating of this thing is similar to what would be recommended for an actual heater for the same size GH, around 9k - 11k. So what that tells me is, in any climate with enough sunshine to where the photosynthetic rate would truly benefit from CO2 supplementation, the combo of solar heat gain plus the heat generated by the CO2 generator itself, would mean sky high temperatures and a need for ventilation, then blowing out all the CO2 just generated! However, doing my calculations for using CO2 tanks, you have to buy so many tanks over the course of even just a month the cost becomes astronomical. The crinum by the ditch is a good example that others may also enjoy it, and would be saddened to see that one day, it disappeared. Of course, we can't stop someone else from doing it, so it might very well be us who have lost the enjoyment of seeing it. In my case, I had a recent situation about this, too. A neighbor's brugmansia grows on the outside of his fence, accessible by the sidewalk. Last fall, I had thought to snip off a branch or two and try to root them for my own plants, but I thought how the owner might feel to see his branches snipped off, even if I thought I was careful in making it inconspicuous. Well, a few weeks ago, I noticed that he had cut it all the way down to the ground. So now I regret not asking or taking a few small cuts. Of course, just because he got rid of it doesn't mean I had any reason to take some for my own, but it's definitely one of those situations where you think how you could have taken a bit of the plant earlier and no "apparent" harm would have been done. But often times, we think there is no harm, except for the fact of sometimes not asking the owner first, who might very well notice and exclaim, "Hey, someone cut my plants!"
