Hi all,
Had a great weekend celebrating my wife's birthday in Kansas last weekend!
On Friday we saw:
7 Northern Water Snakes
4 Diamondback Water Snakes
1 Western Plains Garter Snake
1 Bullsnake
On Saturday, in spite of 45 mile per hour winds (some gusts to 60mph at midday) and a high in the 90s we saw:
12 Northern Water Snakes
5 Bullsnakes
4 Western Massassagua Rattlesnakes (lifelister!)
4 Diamondback Water Snakes
3 Western Plains Garter Snakes
2 Red-Sided Garter Snakes
1 Unidentified Snake
Also 3 Yellow Mud Turtles (lifelister) and an Ornate Box Turtle (also a lifer)
On Sunday:
2 Eastern Yellowbelly Racers
1 Prairie Kingsnake
1 Red-Sided garter Snake
Also two Great Plains Skinks and an Eastern Collared Lizard.
On Monday we watched Greater Prairie Chickens courting at a lek and returned to Missouri.
