Shannon, you must have been REALLY BUSY gardening the last year not to have noticed by now that Spike sold Gardenweb to iVillage way back last November (most of us didn't know until about March or April, actually). They've been talking about making these sort of changes for some time, and I see they're finally implemented (although I HAVE actually seen posts somehow "magically exceed the limit before -- one in the ponds forum made it to 107 replies before it was blocked, and nobody every knew how or why)... You may also notice that there are now more than 10 pages for the main forum area... This one has 19... Ponds forum had 23 last time I checked. Kinda spoils the fun of having a thread max out and getting to be the one to max out your own thread and all that sort of jazz (and Aislinn, I feel like you sorta just got cheated)... on the other hand, for the long run, it's better for all of us. And for the record, I think Claire, Aislinn and most of y'all are Queens, Princesses, Princes, Dukes, Dukes, Dukes, Dukes of Earl... yadda yadda yadda... y'all are ALL just wunnerfull... Today "should" be Day 16---- Day 10 (October 17th) was the last time I posted here, so have a lot of catching up to do! Key phrase "self discipline"....I have been allowing myself to become side-tracked for the past few days and don't want to lose myself in this, so have come back to the boards for motivation. It's Tuesday (trash day)----the box my neighbor was to pick up a week ago Monday went out to the curb before bedtime last night. No wonder we've been friends for so long! LOL! She is into the procratinating mode too! But.......like I warned her before, if it IS NOT picked up on Monday night it gets kicked to the curb. Since I have been away for a few days and not checking in like I was doing before, things have gotten off track for me at home. No way to go back and explain what's taken place each day now as I don't remember what excuses I had for not doing my 15 minute routines. Anyone that has been following my posts here might recall that I was working on my tiny bathroom decluttering and cleaning. This job was started but not completed! During the times I did not post on the boards, things however were accomplished at home. We tossed an old radiator (had a short in it) from my dad's room, as well as the neighbor's box of goodie AND a huge trash bag of "junk", not to mention I started de-cluttering the bedroom (can see progress now). Still in the "de-cluttering and fluttering" stage, which means going from room to room with a trash bag in hand. Sometimes I don't always allow myself to see the trash from the functional items, or end up putting on the blinds because in my heart I'm not wanting to part with the item. This is why it takes so many trips with the bag in hand (fluttering)...LOL! What I view as being something necessary one day is viewed differently the next, so it's an on-going adventure for me. Since my father passed away last Thanksgiving, I am saving his room for last as I catch myself pondering over everything in there. This energy needs to be focused elsewhere for now (our living space to be exact). Today is Day 16-----I have to keep in mind my 15 minute routine and just do it! As I've stated before.....you can get a lot accomplished in 15 minutes and it also serves as a starting point since getting motivated is generally hard for me to do. There is still hope!! I have not lost the motivation...just took a break to deal with other things that needed my energy and time! BTW, at least I don't have to backtrack and redo anything that has already been accomplished! WOOT! Rules were laid down and now being followed both by me AND my DH! He knows that the mess causes stress=) Just wish he'd learn rinse the bathroom sink after shaving! Hate scouring anyone's stubble droppings! Will post results later in the day>>>>

It was labelled thyrsiflora (or some misspelling of that) which has been superseded by hyacinthoides - but I've bought many a mislabeled plant....The leaves are stiff, not so bendable. I wondered if that other NOID (pic below) might be hyacinthoides, the leaves are duller, markings more hazy and the leaves are flexible. The philipsiae appears to be in a gritty mix, one of the tips already hooked on my clothes and toppled it over so I unceremoniously dumped what spilled back into the pot. I regret, there were offsets of masonianas for $8, just green not variegated, but still, it's a good price and they're not all that available here. I have one and therefore, it didn't peak my interest. There are 3 C&S shows coming up within a short distance and a couple others a few hours away that I don't know that I'll be moved to travel to. I'm curious to see what else (species) turns up in those shows.

Okay, here is what I am going to write next week. (Gotta keep it kind of human interest, ya know). ;) A friend asked me, " I have always wondered. When you rescue horses, do they "like" you? LOL! I think you know what I mean. Or do they stay afraid of you?" And this was my answer: Horses from kill pens usually take awhile to settle down. Bane, my other kp horse, likes attention but has many other issues where he is very flighty and easily scared. I think Val has probably been a working horse and hasn't had a lot of doting on. He is distrustful but handles okay once he is caught. Seems to always expect the worst...but he is fresh from the kp and it takes awhile for them to get over it. It is a very stressful place for a horse to be. But do they love you because you rescued them...like a dog? Probably not. All animals appreciate kind treatment, so in time he will know me and know I won't hurt him but I am sure he will always prefer to hang out with his own kind, rather than me. All I ask is he be tolerant of me. I will love him enough for both of us.
