I was in a hurry last night when I responded. The plant in the first pix looked like 'Choc Soldier' to me then. That's why Jeff is referring to his decoder ring not seeing it. Ha ha! I was wrong. Now, seeing last pic, it looks like K. tomentosa, as he said earlier. Sorry for confusion!

I believe there are only 2 species of Aristolochia (Dutchman's pipevine) that are hardy to New England, A. macrophylla and A. tomentosa. They are a fast growing perennial vine, but I don't think they're evergreen. I started A. tomentosa from seed last year (winter 2008). I got 5 healthy seedlings and potted them in small pots. They made it through the winter 2009 fine, but they are still in pots! I wish I had a fence to grow them on, haven't figured out where to put them yet. Sigh.

I know very little about glassware, but I note this one has a glass stopper. To aid the experts, some more information would be helpful. Can you supply:? 1, Size 2. Any nomenclature on the bottom of the bottle. 3. Does the stopper have a frosted appearance on the stopper surface? The glass container appears to be an ordinary molded glass container. I recall seeing bottles like this one among toiletry selections on M'lady's dresser in the 1940s. It may have held a splash-on cologne or a skin moisturizer. These bottles were about 6 inches tall or less. The problem with glass stoppers is that unless treated with a sealer, the alcohol content will evaporate over the course of a few months. A thin film of vaseline on a frosted stopper helped. The second problem is these stoppers can jam in the bottle neck. The third problem is that if the stopper is shoved in too hard, it can burst the bottle neck. A good bottle will have a substantial rim to resist these forces.

I have only found the back stamped NO 326-3P MAH and written also with a 169. I see that the drawers are made with tongue and groove and just a flat head screw is holding the handles on. Pretty sure that MAH means mahogany.
