Our Mating pair is back

We are new to this forum. We meant to post last year, but thought we would start our journal of this year's family.

We will send some pictures of last year. For those who like to identify which species, We'll wait to share our verdict.

Last year we didn't observe the hawks until mid May. This year our first site was March 5, male. The female was observed along with male in rebuilding the nest. (Big Leaf Maple accross the street from our house - Eugene, Oregon) First sign of copulation was March 15. The weather has been exceptionally warm and dry this year. May be a reason why we observed mating so early.

We will continue to post our observations for our benefit and hope you enjoy them.
