Your garden is always so lovely no matter when you take pictures of your beds. I love these kinds of pictures were I can see the entire garden, at least in sections. And it really does look perfect. You have done a stunning job. I just can't believe how much bloom and color you have. Plus you mix some perrenials into your daylily beds so well. I have tried that and it had never worked for me. Actually thats one of the reasons I do so many daylily/lily combos because at least that does work for me. Again, your garden is stunning, always enjoy looking at your pictures.

Wrens are not in a bird house. They are in my door wreath, which is now my wall wreath since the wrens moved in. It's a full cup nest, complete circle, hornet crawled in the entrance. It was obviously attracted to something inside, a scent or whatever. I need to ask this on my GA GABO bird listserve - there are people there with masters degrees in ornithology. (read: I don't know what the heck they are talking about sometimes). Next I'll be emailing some poor entomologist and grilling them about this. How can they nest in a birdhouse? Those nests are HUGE. Not even a large owl box. That's so strange. Yuck! Double yuck! And I am not squeamish.

There are many outstanding bird galleries on smugmug. oldned - That's Plumeria. We bring it indoors over-winter where it goes completely dormant. And out again in late spring and all summer on the deck. It leafs out quickly in the warm weather: And produces lovely fragrant yellow-white blossoms late in the season: thanks again everybody, Kenn

Yes....you are right. I worry about them just like they were my babies...LOL. Carolina Wrens are the sweetest, and cutest of birds. The babies are adorable with their big yellow bills wide open whenever we open the door to go on the deck. This is the third year in a row they have built in this pot. It is on a plant stand in a corner between my screened in deck and the outside deck. It is positioned where it is under the eave, and I always plant a dragon wing begonia in the pot so they have a lot of coverage. I guess it is an ideal place for nesting. They always build the nest on the screened in side, so we have a birds eye view of the nest...no pun intended...LOL. They are not afraid of us at all, and after 3 years, we are the best of friends. I had a grackle nest this year too, and they made a nasty mess, unlike my little wrens, who are very clean. I have also had three broods of mockingbirds in my holly bush. Not sure if they were from the same birds, or different, but there were babies in there from late April up until just a week or so ago. I am very protective of my little wrens, and am worried sick about them until they fledge. I will miss them if they ever decide to find a new home.
