I wonder if this beauty had a craving for Goldfinch or was just hanging out, catching some rays.

I'm so jealous! My pachyphytums have stems that keep growing longer and longer as the lower leaves fall off, but don't have any baby growth coming in. Although I did behead one, and that one has baby growth along its stem. It is discouraging to learn that it will take until next year until they can be on their own!

Have you thought about a nice orchid? They generally like humidity and low light conditions. Then one of the orchid scented diffusers would be somewhere out of the way to help contribute to the effect. Generally, the round bath oil beads would not tend to dissolve on you, until you dropped them into the bath water. Plus, they would look neat in a jar. Other options would be incense, they can diffuse in the air without being burned. And some of the potpourri botanicals with lovely shapes can also be used. Things like the star anise. Or a shell with some scented essential oils like lavender hidden inside. I think just a hint of a scent is always more effective than an overpowering odor. Hmmm, even a small glass vase with sprigs of rosemary or lavender would look low key and appropriate in a bath.

Yeah, I do still think a bit like an accountant. it is one of my shortcomings. I will definately make more money as an accountant, there is no question about that. And if I'm smart, I could still put away enough for retirement to equal the pension. My real benefit I am looking at is that it is a different kind of work, I want to change what I'm doing, I wasn't thinking this drasticly until the opportunity came along, but I am going to get a different job in the spring doing something different in accounting or finance. This is something that has interested me in the past. I get to be outside, which maybe isn't all its cracked up to be, but right now seems great, considering I sit in a confrence room with no windows 12 hours a day now. I get to work less, and when I work overtime I get paid. Granted now I guess that is "factored in" to my salary. I've talked to family and friends who are interested, or working on the periphary of law enforcement, I think I need to talk to a few officers. We know a few indirectly, someone's husband, someone's daughter etc etc. I need a legitamate picture of the day to day.

Well, bad news. I already had AnyCapture (by Tucows) installed on my PC, which means I tried it twice now with no luck. The program takes the capture, but the image moves around and saves as nothing but a black box. I don't understand how so many people have made their own stills from this movie. They must have high-tech capturing devices, the kind that hook up to your DVD player on your TV. Anyway, I'll just have to do my doll while watching and pausing the movie a lot. Thanks for the help anyway. I will email you my pixel doll website link :)

UGH! Sorry but I hate snakes. I have them all over down here. I've even had a couple get in the house. And I know lots of people that have had the same thing happen. It takes only a minute for them to get in with an open door.

Is this a rat snake? Also, looking closer at your picture, there appears to be another snake over in the next tree. Is this also a snake, or just a big limb?

I think it's the same snake. The lower pic is an enlarged insert.

Yep, there was only one snake. I spliced the 2 pics to show his position in relation to the feeders (though at that angle, it still doesn't quite show just how close he was) as well as his markings. He let me get as close as I dared, within 2-3 feet. Just sat there and eye-balled me. I've gotten a lot braver about snakes since we moved to the woods, but I don't think I'll ever get brave enough to handle one.

I wondered if this was the same fella I found on my deck rail last year. He's quite the climber. We had a stick in a (plant) pot that the hummingbirds would perch on to guard their feeders. He just crawled out on it and basked for a while. Funny, we didn't see too many hummers that day.

Yep, that's a Gray Rat Snake(Elaphe obsoleta spiloides), also called a "White Oak Snake" in Florida. I've got a six-foot male right here in my den, though he's a bit darker than this one, and possibly mixed with Black Rat, since he came from southern Georgia. Rat Snakes are expert climbers, by the way. Beautiful animal in any case.
