Sorry all...no photos!

I was in too much of a panic to grab my phone!

The other day I saw a bird I had never seen before...a lifer. Found out it was a hermit thrush...cool!

I have a shed/greenhouse and went out there for a smoke (bad...I know) and I heard something. First thought...those damn chipmunks snuck in again this morning!

I then saw a bird perched on a bamboo stake that was in my greenhouse. I tried to approach, but he/she flew against the window. Of course I yelled for my husband. I watched him try to get the bird to fly out of the open door. I think the thrush actually flew into his hands at one point!!

Happy ending...the thrush flew out the door into a very rainy outdoors!

I cannot imagine when this bird flew inside. I guess he/she could have walked in, when I wasn't looking. Good thing it was rainy/cloudy. If he/she had been in there all day and it was sunny...it would not have been good!!

I'm looking forward to seeing this bird again.

Anyone have any info/experiences with hermit finches? They seem to not be very skittish where people are concerned.

Hope to get a photo at some point!
