A Journey For Bluebirds

gardener365

I was at an auction a couple weeks ago and spotted a stack of solid oak boards. They were the perfect width for making my own bluebird nesting boxes.

I finally got busy a few days ago and copied a pattern of my first box I built that is being inhabited by wrens. I placed it in the wrong spot.

Today my exterior coat of water sealant had all dried so I went and got hardware and now they're up. While I built (8) I found that the six acres of land I have only accommodated (6). They're all at least 100 yards apart as said in the literature I read. Next year my feathered friends will have some new scouting areas to make their big decision about which one is the best, heehee.
