This has been my best bird day, ever! Not long after posting this, several Northern Orioles flew in too. "The Gang's All Here!" and they're certainly making my feeder tree and post very colorful. Linda OHnowGA ~ Do you use the "upside down" finch/nyjer feeder? It restricts the seed so only the goldfinches can get to it? That has helped keep some of my costs down. Of course, the Pine Warblers here can eat upside down, too, so they "share." And the doves are always on the ground to pick up the leftovers. Ont Gal ~ There has been a rumor that there have been nesting cardinals in Grand Forks for the past two-three years. I haven't seen them yet, but I keep hoping. Hello all! I used to participate in these forums years and years ago when this was GardenWeb and during Summrfield's era. Does anyone know if Summerfield is still around or if they are available for hire? I really appreciated Summerfield's designs and would love to hire them, if possible.

Since you are in Denver, you should visit Tony's Meat Market, which is owned by some of my cousins. Nancy (who is my first cousin) married Tony and they eventually moved to Denver, after living in southern California for a few years (Orange County), and then she and Tony started the deli. I haven't seen Nancy in over 50 years and have never met any of her children or grandchildren, and so they have no idea who I am. Unfortunately, Nancy now has Alzheimer's, and so even she won't remember me, although we were in close communication about 10 years ago. I wanted to see her in Denver and meet her children, but now it seems like I have waited too long. Their son Mick used to be on TV regularly in Denver with a cooking show, but I believe he recently moved to Kansas. So happy to hear about your new relationship - I hope it will be long-lasting.
