Armageddon: Smoking the peppers first sounds like a great idea, the scotch bonnet sauce recipe I used called for frying the pepper, garlic and onion in a bit of oil for a about 5 minutes before adding the water which really brought out a lot of savory flavor. jennie: If you're referring to my asian wing sauce, you can freeze it, but don't add the basil or cilantro till you use it as a marinade. I would keep it refrigerated instead of canning/shelving, since there's not much acid in there with only 1 lime. IAmSupernova: It really is a great wing sauce. Just be careful if you use the grill, wings tend to flare up and burn especially due to the brown sugar and oil. The licorice taste of the thai basil with the high heat from the chiles is out of this world.

Sometimes I omit the sausage and throw in some chopped up veggies, such as red or green pepper, onion, mushrooms. This is one of the few recipes in which I use white bread. Have always been happy with the results, but may try whole wheat someday. I'm also very intrigued with using hash brown patties or croutons. Phyllis, would you mind posting the particulars? Like how many patties and eggs, how much milk and cheese?

I was given instruction from the vet- this is not his regular vet but the vet from the Emergency Clinic 45 minutes from me. They are open 24/7 have 5 vets on staff and also see regular patients. He was kept on fluids for 4-5 nights with a vet monitoring him at all times and for a day or two, kept in the office on a comfy bed- not a cage. I can call the clinic with any concerns at any time to speak with a vet and am encouraged to do this. I actually like the vet who did the surgery (there were two of them) much better than my regular vet. The one who did the surgery is the one I'll see when I take my dog in tomorrow morning. Restrictions were to basically baby him and leash walk him for 4 weeks ( for potty). To give him chicken broth with his food to increase his liquid intake because his urine was darkish. He would not eat for 2 days after I brought him home and I was told his clavamox? antibiotic might be making him nauseous. I gave him, per instructions, 10 mg of famatodine and stopped the antibiotic. He started eating the next day. He has pain medicines I give him every 6 hours and yes, in the middle of the night. Today, he ate well, but drank little. Our appointment is at 10:00 Friday. I appreciate ALL your advice.

Sundays and Wednesdays are 'egg' days. I made scrambled today and warmed up some frozen cinnamon butter pecan coffee cake -- OJ and coffee I managed to make via the pour-over method. I'm only cooking eggs with the Irish Kerrygold butter from now on; much better taste. I It was 17F overnight. I don't care. It's *sunny* and my house is warm.
