The type of bird she is I believe is a regular sparrow as far as I know. The father has red on his chest and the mother is just a plain brown sparrow, I live in the Arizona desert in Lake Havasu City, Az. I failed to mention that the birds have not hatched yet they are still in there eggs. She laid the eggs last week. The egg laying started on the 8th she had one a day and has 3 now, so they were laid on the 8th, 9th and 10th. Adding the fake foilage is a good idea. I can monitor the nest very easily because it is right by the front door hanging on the wall and I have a glass front door. bandjzmom, this is not a hanging basket(although I do have those hanging out front too),this is a wrought iron planter with a flat back that one puts the coco fibar in it and it hangs on the wall. I stopped watering it because it would of for sure flooded the nest and I did not want to do that so I let the flowers die and that is the problem, it put the nest right out in the open. I think I will move it up and add some fake foilage (GREAT IDEA Lisa) I will then watch the nest from the inside at the front door. I think I have a better chance of this working because the birds have not hatched yet. I will keep you updated. I am relieved to know that she will not leave her eggs. Your question got my curiosity up and I'm not even from the DFW area! LOL Anyway if someone here doesn't know the answer try the bird watching forum and then if they know come back and tell us. I'm not a 'birder', but all I can think of is cedar wax wings which are the only birds I happen to notice in large flocks, but that's when they are migrating. But of course seeing a large group of birds doesn't necessarily mean they are migrating. Sometimes after the young are raised 'birds of a feather flock together' just for the fun of it. Hi Donna. I dont want to piss anyone off here talking to much about dogs because it is a blue bird forum. But dogs on leashes tend to be more aggressive than when not. Level one and two training classes help you to teach your dog to walk on a leash. Socialazation of your dogs with other dogs and people is crucial, but it has to be done early in dogs life or it may not be reversable?. I have been watching my Camo cat very close when he is out. I could never tie this cat out, he is 12 very lean pounds and would hurt himself trying to get off for sure. So far he has not gone near the box. IM not blind to the fact that he could be a danger to my BB's. We had a successful pair in a box right next to the one used now. Because I was a real newbie at BBing, I never did anything to the 2x4 the house was on, or any type of guards and luck be with us that year, they fledged 4 baby bb's! I worry about my Camo cat all the time when he is outside, I love him so much. We live on a dead end dirt road abbutting a mountain range. Up behind the house is a huge field. The wildlife is crazy.Bears,coyotes,foxes, hawks you name it. When Camo does not come in at night I find myself staying up until he is in safe. IM do my best to keep my BB's safe. The BB brinks is in place.

Boy you can get a headache trying to tell which kind of Sparrow is which but I believe it is. I got my bird book out and it looks more like it than anything else.
