Grand Canyon such a GRAND canyon...

Greetings! Here is a link for some pictures of the Grand Canyon from this past weekend. http://usera.imagecave.com/mochajo/ Powell Plateau is an island in the Grand Canyon-like a giant ship. Saw no other tourists the whole time. I did a day hike down 900 ft from the swamp point trail head then back up 800 ft to Powell Plateau. The views up there are fantastic! I got to look East, North, and west into the canyon. Took 9 hours to hike it up and back. You CAN stay overnight and more days if you want to. Just get a permit from the Natl park service and you can camp up there for days! The total distance around the pie crust of the plateau is 8 miles. I wish I got up early enough to do more. Next time, I'm not going alone. See, I usually solo hike.

Next time, I want to camp up there under the stars for three days and see all the views from 360 degrees.

I live 3 hours from the north rim lodge in Utah. Oh, gas was not cheap up there.... but still better than I expected. $ 3.24 per gal.

hope you all like the pictures. And, if you ever want to hike or camp there, I will give you the exact directions including the high clearance vehicle you need for the 18 miles of forest service dirt roads. cheers! jerry
