Perplexing Persistent Propane Problem

Last year I bought a two burner Coleman propane stove. There is no model number on it, but it has electric ignition and the gas line is solid pipe, not a rubber hose. There is no shut-off valve at the tank. Last year it worked well.

After sitting unused for a year, we took it camping again. It worked well for a day or two, but then it started having gas flow problems. The gas flow would abruptly stop or taper off to nearly nothing. Sometimes tipping the bottle up would restart it and sometimes it wouldn't. Sometimes replacing the propane bottle would restart it and sometimes it wouldn't. The supply pipe would sometimes ice up.

Does anyone have an idea of what the problem might be? It sure is annoying.

I have a year to fix the problem, since our annual camping vacation is over. Here's our setup:
