Chickenwire Contraption Still Working After Two Weeks

Hello all,

A "newbie" reporting in -

I thought I would follow up to say that the chickenwire oval with jewelry wires hanging down and placed over our tube feeder is still working at keeping out most house sparrows, after two weeks. Lots of chickadees, finches (house, purple, and gold),and titmice are all going in to enjoy the sunflower seed. They have no trouble negotiating their way through the hanging wires.

It's interesting, though, a few female HOSPs have been able to get by the wires to the feeder, but the males don't. (I really don't care about a few females as long as hordes of sparrows don't descend on us like they did before.)

Just thought this might be of interest, considering what a pain in the neck the HOSPs are.
