Last month, i took my camping coach out for state safety inspection. they said it needed new back brakes, but everything else was o.k.

so, they installed new rear brake linings. When i took it home, it didn't seem right, so they said to bring it back, so i went back last Wednesday, and the mechanic adjusted the brakes, and they seemed better, but not as good as the old brakes were. I really had to stand on the pedal and leave lots of room in front of me.

This morning, i loaded the refrig., put in my banjo and some clothes, put the groceries away, kissed the wife, and left for a Bluegrass festival.

About 15 miles from home-a panic stop became the only thing i could do and out went the brakes-completely!

Well, it had to be towed back to the repair shop! they loaned me a car to come home in, they are going to fix it right this time, and hopefully I'll get back on the road before dark!

Fortunately (WHEW) i didn't hit anybody! And, fortunately, i was only ten miles from the repair shop! So here i sit, waiting for the call to come get it. I told the shop foreman i'd trade it for a light weight tent trailer when he got it back to the shop, but got no response!

My coach is a 1978 Dodge, 32' long, runs great! the only trouble with it is: If i ask a lot of money for it, the folks who could afford it won't be buying an old camper, they'll buy a newer one. And, the folks who could maybe afford it, if they didn't have a high paying job, couldn't afford to run it because of the high cost of gasoline (10 miles to the gallon!) 440 c.i. engine.

But, i only go out 6-7 times a season, and the places i go aren't set up for electric, water, rest rooms,etc.
