Marymcp- Thanks! As far as the shade goes, those plants are barley getting any. They are starting to get burnt tips, but they are still alive and going strong. If you find yourself getting more babies off your spider plants than you have room for inside(like me), it's at least worth a shot outside. Those mesquite trees sound like they are going to be a great addition to your garden. Grant- Thanks alot, I really appreciate the specifics and solid advide/observations you provide. How about your Jades? What kind of watering schedule do they get? My large jade that was frying in the sun has recovered nicely inside and is now sprouting new leaves;)

Rosewitch, England was definitely one of my favorite places I have ever visited. My folks took me there when I was 14, and I remember bits and pieces the Crown jewels, walking amongst the Stonehenge stones (roped off now, vandalism), Stratford upon Avon. Time for me to take my own 14YO. Im trying to think how I can get over there for a whole summer, LOL. Dlynn, I could have worked so much more. I'd also check out Yountville and St. Helena, if you wanted to stay in Napa. Auberge du Soleil. Recommendations on food and lodging will vary on budget -- the skies the limit in Napa and Sonoma -- and regarding wineries, depending on varietal. Cabs? Chardonnay? Sparkling? Pinot? A little of everything? Recommendations on where to dine en route would vary on what time you are set to arrive. Davis is pretty much en route -- of note there are a couple new regional Chinese restaurants that are reportedly pretty good (eg Chengdu Style), Village Bakery (with pizza), Osteria Fasulo. That might be a counterbalance to what you might expect in Napa or Sonoma. Or you could just drive directly and stop at a place in Napa proper (Oenetri, Kenzo) or near Yountville (Bouchon, Redd Wood, Mustard's, Brix).

I’m not sure which one I enjoyed more but suffice to say the food in both states was excellent. Fried green tomatoes, Mac & cheese, collards, corn bread, hoppin john , pimento cheese ( thought of MtnRd) fried chicken, pecan pie etc … had to try cheesy grits but sadly not a fan … think it’s a textural taste. Weather was warm (high 80°) People we met at hotels as well as on a couple tours were the best! I actually met 3 young ladies in a Tommy Bahamas store who were from RI and I remarked about my observations and they agreed.
