How to get messages to mark as read

I'm having trouble on this forum getting messages to change from blue to purple (indicating that they have been read). Sometimes they change and sometimes they don't. I thought I had figured out the problem and don't just quit the web page and go somewhere else. Instead I hit the back button first before leaving the site, but it obviously isn't that.

Can somebody please help?

Linda,I think it's best if you go to the bottom of this page,look for the heading About Us, and click on Contact Us.

I can't help b'c I've gotten that color change from the first time I ever came to GW almost 14 years ago..

Depends on your browser, its functions, and how you have them set, ie, whether you are seeing a cached paged or a refreshed page. Your cache may need to be cleaned.

But I have found if someone else is posting on the same thread at about the same time the color quickly changes back.

oh I got LOTS of pictures of her already. She is SO YOUNG, I never had a little tiny one like that before and she does things I have not seen with the others. She is her own little Precious. If only you could see her right now. Ella, I just happen across your story this morning almost a year after you posted it. I dont even know if you'll get my post but.. I wanted you to know how touching this story was to me. My whole day will be changed as I think about what was posted. I will call my loved ones and tell them how I feel about them.. I will make time to spend with them no matter how hectic my day seems.I will share my feelings with friends and coworkers as I go about my day. I also see the ******renade,(possible serenade) but don't continue reading the letters after that because they'll be upside down, lol. The print is in two lines, around the circle one banner above the other. It looks like the last letters of the next easily visible printing are *******MO(Y?)LS or MOYES Take a light with a very strong beam and shine it across the relief of the mark from the side at a very sharp angle to throw the indentation into sharp shadow. If you using a camera with flash, you may want to snap a shot that way. I do photographs of old gravestones for my research and this often works better than rubbing.

I've read all but the first one, though I tried to get through that one. SILENT SPRING lit the fire in my belly regarding pesticide use and helped shape the direction of my career. I first read it in college and became a thorn in the collective paws of my horticulture professors.

I have the same problem. Sometimes they change color sometimes they don't. This has only started in the last month or two.

Also strangely the tomato forum itself also sometimes doesn't change color but other forums do.

I think Dave may be right about the cache, it may be full. A reboot might help, I may try that sometime.

I will clean out my cache and see if THAT is the problem.

Gather your browser information, OS etc and inquire at Computer Help Forum - GardenWeb. I've no problem with FF23x and Windows 7 .
