Very nice. I've been thinking that I must install a couple of bird feeders in our front yard. The only thing holding me back is the thought that we'll be inundated with house sparrows and squirrels again.

gawdinfever, what kinds of birds are they? Especially the one on the hummingbird feeder?

Hi, I have a journal, given as a gift, so it's brand new, entitled, Days from the Heart of the Home by Susan Branch. It has lovely pages full of the authors own artwork, and could be used for any year, for it's a journal full of home spun art and all things, ieth no yeara ttached just days and dates. I will post a picture of it on a separate email, if you are interested. It's published by little, brown and company and is very sweet, with lots of things realting to nature. I also have a Hawaiian Plantation recipe book which is a spiral paperback and full of inspirational recipes from Hawaii. In the dedication, it says Nature made Hawaii beautiful..... I have the following magazines for trade: Progressive Farmer: Nov. 2002 Country Discoveries: Sept./Oct 2002 Reminisce: March/April 2002, July/August 2002, November/ December 2001, Jan./Feb. 2001 Birds and Blooms: Dec/Jan. 2003, April/May 2002, Dec./Jan. 2002 Farm and Ranch: Dec./Jan. 2003 I am interested in trading for what have you. I love natural objects and things like bird nests, shells, etc. and anything unusual, and also homemade things, or whatever. Nor have I, and I'm stumped! I am however happy to report that nothing has been touched since the introduction of the wire snakes. I haven't seen the cardinals since that last visit to the garden, and all other birds are staying clear of the garden (they only come as far as the edges of the yard). Still, I'm really curious as to why the cardinals would act in such a way. It's been hot and humid, but not all that dry, really. Thanks for the suggestions guys :)

No. Sorry, I don't. I do have feeders from Wild Birds Unlimited that are made of the recycled plastic and they are awesome (tail prop for the woodpeckers and a hopper style for the other birds). I would recommend them as you will never have to replace them. My bluebird house is wood, but would consider a WBU one when I need a replacement. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

dave, try only safflower seed. My squirrels and House Sparrows do not like it but everything else loves it.
