Try Hanging nest boxes on trees 20ft from ground

Hi Every one,

I attended a local Bluebird society meeting here in S.California.I was surprised to hear from them that here in CA,they hang their nest boxes on tree branches 20ft+ from the ground using a pole. They seem to have great success.Their philosophy here is that the Bluebird's real enemy is not the racoon/snake/cat/squirrel etc.Humans are the BB's biggest enemy. Here they may not have too many racoons. The whole idea is very hard for me.I suppose I can get used to it.Each time you monitor a nest box, you have to use this pole, bring down the nest box, check it and then lift it up in a pole to hang it back on the tree!!!"Different strokes for different folks" is correct.Who is to say that they are wrong?Their success rate is impressive.
