What kind of bird is this?????

HI,

I was out working in my yard today and discovered that my Blue bird house I was in the process of relocating had baby birds in it. It has been leaning against my back fence for about 2 weeks, and I guess someone found it appetizing enough to move in. I watched off and on all day as the baby birds seemed a little agitated and never saw a momma. Finally after a full day around 6:30 she shows up. Her picture is attached. I am glad they have a momma. Can anyone tell me what she is?

I agree with the squirrel nest - I have a lot of them and I've seen a squirrel running between them: A squirrel bustled up and down the trees at sunrise - it looked like it was checking the various nests to see who was awake and up. Lucky you! Listen for their unmistakeable "Wheep" call & you'll be able to see them as they go about their business. I'd love to have them nest in one of my boxes.

Thanks everyone! These guys are unique. I have listened to them for weeks now! I thought I would post a pic of one of the babies that surfaced this morning... He is ready for his flying lesson and Mom is on alert! One at a time I guess, the others are just hanging out poking their heads out every now and then.. Such a wonderful experience.

I've never even seen a flycatcher and to watch them fledging is such a treat!

My flycatchers are very ornery. Their favorite activity seems to be chasing the yellow finches. Logic tells me it's a territorial thing, but I can't help think they're also amused by this. Regardless, the finches sure make a fuss and lose many feathers.
