What kind of bird??

I am located in North Eastern Pennsylvania. Today I seen a small vivid green bird about the size of an oriole. The green was like the bird in the picture below..... This is not the actual bird....It was on the ground under the bird feeder hopping around. I have had bird feeders all my adult life and this is the first time I have seen this bird. Anyone have any ideas what kind it is? I will try to get a picture if I see it again!

a female Painted Bunting but they're not supposed to be in your area.

Thank you for the help. After looking at pictures of buntings I believe what I saw was a male Indigo Bunting. I appreciate your help! :-)

They are nature's garbage men! I live near a park with mature trees that is sandwiched at the intersection of two busy roads. The turkey vultures settle in on a garage roof across from the park a block from the intersection and just have a buffet! They are magnificent.

Looks like a domestic pigeon that probably escaped from its owner or didn't find it's way home. Head structure doesn't look like a Homing pigeon.

"Blue Dacnis" aka Turquoise Honeycreeper

They're from South and Central America. lol

Perhaps its an escapee.

The Blue Dacnis or Turquoise Honeycreeper (Dacnis cayana) is a small passerine bird. This member of the tanager family is found from Nicaragua to Panama, on Trinidad, and in South America south to Bolivia and northern Argentina. It is widespread and often common, especially in parts of its South American range.
