I think you should put the city where you swap in your name. I had to scroll down a bit to figure out what swap this was and where.

Since I didn't participate, guess it's not my business really but just a suggestion so it might help all the others (thousands?) who login to gardenweb and wonder the same thing I was wondering.

I need to clarify my meaning of a name. I did not mean change the sign. Just a reference name to tell people who walked up.
I had to quiz people as they arrived at the pavillion. It would have been a bit simpler to ask if the they there for the "?" swap.

It was so great to meet all of you! You're all so generous - I think I took home 5x as many plants as I brought. I'm planting them when I can, in-between storms (yeah for the rain!).

I have a question about planting my new sweet autumn clematis and passion vines: will they take over my yard if I put them straight in the ground? Should I instead plant them each in a 5-gallon pot and bury the pot? I couldn't find a definitive answer about their invasiveness in Texas.

I don't know about San Antonio but here the Sweet Autumn doesn't go anywhere but where I plant it. The Incense passi does send out babies all around it but they are easy to dig or pull and that just makes them easier to share or more to move the caterpillars to

What about the name MacArthur Park Plant Swap?

I think the Sweet Autumn Clematis is a problems only as far as seeds...it makes quite a few and they come up easily. Most passionvines will spread underground and pop up nearby...if contained in some way it's less of a problem.

We participate in the Galveston County swap, Fort Bend (missed last 2 because of Ike) and the Mercer swap, two named after the counties where we're at(I NEED caffine) and the other named for where we hold the swap.

Perhaps next year ya'll can just do a joint swap to avoid confusion with the group at the other pavilion. I would have had to go to both swaps!! But I'm a junkie, like the rest of you enablers, lol. The Houston plantswap or some name like that joined us at Mercer a few years ago, they come every year, they just put their sign up on their table and we all have one big happy swap.

Jim said he had a great time & finally got to meet some of ya'll and put faces to names. He is so organized and his plants are always so perfect. Unlike mine. We're going up to see him if it ever quits raining.

Sisterhood of the traveling plants would be great except a lot of our gardeners are men. SAPS, no, but it is kind of fitting, sap from the trees & all, but who wants to be known as a sap? And the letters are too confusing to most people. Is there already a San Antonio plant swap? If not can you use that name? Or do you want Gardenweb in there somewhere?

beachplant, you make some really valid points. Would 'SA MacArthur Park Plant Swap' be too confusing? Or too long?

There are other (at least one) plant swaps in SA so just San Antonio Plant Swap may be confusing, so maybe San Antonio GW Plant Swap. Not very creative, but functional. SAPS was intended to be "punny", but some might not like to be called a SAP! BTW - I don't really remember who came up with SAPS, I thought it was you Kathy! Some one very clever, of course!

Well, I like SAPS! It's catchy so it can be remembered, and as said above it is punny since plants have sap and we're saps for plants (we're especially sappy happy at plant swaps) -- so what else could be more perfect? :-)
