There are people experienced in reading soil reports who occasionally visit this site, but I haven't seen them in a few weeks. In the meantime, I can tell you that: 1. your micros aren't bad, but macros P and K are low. 2 the TEC is in a good range. your soil is likely a sandy loam and you have decent OM. Mulch mowing and mulching leaves will add additionally to the OM. 3. Your PH is higher than desireable -slightly below 7 and above 6 is the preferred range. PH is a reflection of the hydrogen in the soil and the test reveals yours as 0.. .High PH retards nutrient (including mineral) availability. There is no fast way to lower PH. Use of sulfur coated fertilizers will help. The chemical process that makes synthetic fertilizer available to the turf will also produce hydrogen. 4.Your magnesium to calcium ratio is high. This can cause "tight" soil. Adding lime will only adversly affect your already high PH. Adding gypsum will increase the calcium level with little or no affect to the PH. Gypsum will also help leach some of the magnesium out. In addition to helping bring your ratios into line, the leaching will make the magnesium available to the turf (grass uses mag. for photosynthesis) and will help improve color. If andy10917 doesn't give you a read and recs, I would suggest you apply a starter fertilizer at a drop rate of 1# of N now, mid June and early September. This will help improve your P and K and the sulfur coating may help your PH harm. Add 10-20# /k of gypsum now and again at the end of the season. Folliar iron applications will also help color. Use Milorganite in July and August for the iron and OM. Wait to see if andy 10917 responds before you impliment my suggestions.

I'm in Oklahoma...7A.....normally a solid zone for deodaras so I have several. Like the rest of the nation, it was our coldest winter in many years. We dealt with several nights at zero or below. So I've been waiting to see what damage I sustained. I had random burn around my gardens, but no consistency. For instance, I had a 6' Lime Glow where the top 3' died completely and the bottom half showed no sign of burn. In another area of the property I had a little Lime Glow - only about 2' - and it came through unscathed. The only tree I lost completely was a Cedrus atlantica 'Hillier's H.B.' I did have another deodara that burned pretty bad but will recover which was a Cedrus deodara 'Monkinn' P. P. A. F. , sold under the coomon name of Feelin' Sunny. The burn around the gardens though was weird, almost like you could see the burning wind's path. I might have one tree burned on the top, while a few trees away one's burned vertically on one side, and so forth. Usually in my zone I deal a lot more with heat and sunburn. I know as a "summer person" that I am not considered a Maniac but I have to spend the work year here in Illinois with my husband as both our jobs are here. Our future retirement house in Maine has a winter tenant so we can afford to use it for a few weeks of bliss in the summer. I first visited Maine in 1964 and have not missed a summer since then. My heart swells with joy when we cross the Bath bridge, open the car windows and smell the first salty air. I garden with perennials in the beds and annuals in the window boxes and containers on the porch. I lost my Bonica rose and many perennials with that hard winter last year and still had Japanese beetles in my Rugosas. Sigh. We look out at Indiantown Island in West Boothbay Harbor so the bird activity is as much fun as the plant stuff. I dug a little pond a few years ago and that brings a lot of pleasure. The resident frog is big enough to croak so loudly we hear him indoors! Mary
