Yeah, a few of us I know have been ordering from there. Great service, great mealworm price but the most expensive shipping of all the other companies. By the time you pay shipping the cost is about $12 per thousand mealworms which still isn't bad but considering the shipping is like $44 (for 5,000 worms) you somehow feel like it isn't the greatest deal around. But the guy is really nice there, I usually call, didn't know they had a website.

During the shortage, my local supplier was out, and I too ordered from them. That week's moderate weather forecast was in our favor, so I used Priority instead. A frozen cold pack was attached at the bottom of the box, then the cloth bag containing crumpled newspaper and mealworms was attached, all in a box with very big holes. By the time they arrived, 2-3 days later, the cold pack was still damp. Healthy, very lively mealworms, every one. And a really nice, helpful staff (love that southern accent, too). Count me another very happy customer.
But now I have to support my local supplier.

I have CERISE MASTERPIECE. Here is a pic from last year. This year it is not doing so good as far as the blooms. My only thought is that perhaps your zone 4b may be a tad too cool for this one unless of course you have typically very warm summers. My other suggestion is for you to search on Amber Spyglass and view as many photos as possible. I thought the blooms would be whiter in color based on the hybridizers photo however, it blooms an orangey/amber color as the registered description says. You may or may not like that color. I've attached a link to see a photo of what I've been told and seen it actually bloom like. Lambertson's also can be iffy in many gardens. I have several and got rid of 3. I never give them anything that is bigger than medium. I ordered small ones once, but they didn't like them very much. I never realized birds could be so picky. They are as bad as my cat. For now I'm spacing out the mealies I have and will dip into my breeding box if need be for a few each day. I ordered some waxworms to try. Of course I realize that these birds were fine without me and my mealworms, and they'll be fine without me. Heck, if they could just eat a few mosquitos they'd be stuffed. Glad you got your shipments. I called and ordered another 5000 last night and discovered the price had gone up. I checked around and it appears everyone has. The shipping is expensive but I lost one shipment in this heat last year so guess I'll just have to pay. I'm afraid I'll need to cut back on the amount I feed them every day. I was putting out 200-300 mealies a day but I will have to cut back to 100-150. It is just getting too expensive. I have noticed one of the last brood is still coming to the feeder to get his share. Dad will usually try to keep him away from the meal worms as best he can so he and Mom can feed the latest brood up in the trees.

That is where I bought my first and second batch of meal worms, thanks to this forum. I was very satisfied. But I which I hadn't bought the second batch, soon after I got the second batch the first batch of fledglings flew away the the adults quiet eating them. Now the meal worms are going through there evolutionary process. Got a bunch of Beatles in my container now, hopefully there will be a bunch of new meal worms come this fall and winter. Hopefully in a few days will have new babies and the adults will feed them the meal worms.
