I am so glad you had good success at your market.I donated some items to a recent fund raiser for Cancer auction. The thing that every one really seemed to like were two spheres I had cast inside globe light fixtures and then broken the glass off. I had painted them muted colors and given them a high gloss sealer. The two 12 inch ones went for 120.00 the pair. The planters with faces seemed to go fast also.Hope the next market goes as well. Cindy

David welcome back. I do hope that this time around you will not get sick when you have to move the plants in. I would love to look at your pictures. Old or new....I LOVE pictures. Especially to compare how things change from season to season. Could you post a link to your site? Thanks Crossing my fingers for you that you will see NHDP and AT with a flush before wintertime. Looking forward to get to know you more and sure hope your health is as good as it can be. Lucy

Wow, I am deeply touched by your kind words of support. I am more of a lurker than a poster but have come to know that you are all one very special group of people. I also know that so many of you have been through similar heart breaks, and my heart goes out to all of you. Life can be so tough at times, but we do manage to pull through with a "little help from our friends". :-) OJ: We do have an amazing support group, it actually blows me away on how much we are being cared for. Thanks for your concern. Had more to say but the phone keeps ringing and I've lost my train of thought. Will be back later to fill in the blanks. Today is a better day, thanks to all you KT'ers. You truly ROCK! BJ

Yeah we get freezes throughout winter and the roses actually do just fine. They seem to like the cold better than my 100+ degree summers. I get a lot of dieback and sometimes complete death in the summer due to sunburn. But I've never lost a rose to winter freezing temps. Of course, we don't go much below 34 degrees and not usually for a very long period. I've also got a lot of succulents in pots on my porch and breezeway. I don't believe I've ever lost any of them. The only things I've lost to freezing temps are the Martha Washington geraniums and any coleus I might still have left. Roses are pretty tough. They can survive a lot of different adversities. And they really seem to like the cold. I also have roses blooming now. My winters are much colder than your normal ones in SoCal. And even so, I'm finding most of them don't really go totally dormant even in our coldest yrs. They have a lot more disease right now, but it's nice to just get a few bloomers here and there before spring hits.
