Just wanted to say hi, and let you know of my sad news

My husband of 26 years passed away suddenly on June 5th, at home. DD and I had been out and came home to find him. :-( It was determined that he had arrythmia which is apparently different from a heart attack, whereas there was no warning, and his heart just stopped beating so it was instant. We are grateful that he had no pain. But we are still so shocked. It feels like we are watching a movie and looking in on someone else's lives.

Our lives have been a flurry of activity with family, friends, neighbours, paperwork and more paperwork and countless phone calls. With the blasted mail strike here in Canada, we have being doing a lot of running around to deliver documents and to pick up more paperwork. DD and I are going away to my brother's cottage for a few days over the Canada Day long weekend and we are looking forward to just hidding out and maybe do some fishing, I will, but DD, not so much. :-)

If you could say a little prayer (if you are the praying type) or send some positive energy our way while we come to terms with this great loss, I'd be forever grateful.

Good morning! I too try to visualize people and it rarely, if ever, works out. it is nice to put faces to names. Shirley, still thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers. i know that's your daughter, brittney and dawson -- who are the others (inquiring nosey minds want to know) and as for your mom, you never know what the next roommate may be, perhaps you can hold off on the move until you see what comes in LOL, however, I think I'd want to be with my own and her secrets kept!!!! annie your dogs are beautiful, as are you. my aunt and uncle, for as long as i can remember, were the first home for service dogs until they were ready to go into training. they had several different dogs from what i recall. sorry about your lizzie...i know how hard it is to lose a beloved pet. my next dog is going to be a shepherd, but it's been decided that we will only have one dog at a time now, so I have to wait my turn. (we'll see) i made an anniversary cake for a group i belong to, it was our 7 year anniversary so i made this massive cake. i filled it with alternating layers of buttercream and lemon curd, and dang, if it was not tasty. I was able to take a slice home for the family to taste and seriously wish there had been more leftover, would have made a nice breakfast!!!! a real nice combination, even though it started out that i was going to use raspberry as well...i just couldn't get enough to cook them down to make a nice sauce/filling. it's still so cold and seems to be staying that way until at least next week, when it's supposed to go to the high 40's, with rain. by then, i'll think it's summer. this cold is bone chilling and of course, they are calling for more snow. we haven't got much of it, but.....this year it is bothering me like mad! i shouldn't complain, there are parts of the country that are in the negatives, so i'll just keep my mouth shut on this subject any further! so whose left to post their pic? come out. come out whereever you are! speaking of which, jeanne, how are those triplets of late? is mary ellen still a part of this group? i feel like i haven't seen her in a long time...maybe since she became a grandmom, or right before that? hae a nice thursday! maryanne

I stay logged in even after I click the box. I keep coming back to the log-in page, as if I never entered my info, when I use my usual web browser, Firefox. So I switch to Internet Explorer, which runs slower on my machine, but at least I can post this way. It's a pain. I'm on $10/month dial-up in the boondocks. Can't get a faster connection, unless I go with $60/month wireless. A newer computer would help. I really only need the internet for Google searches and e-mail and a few online communties. I'd rather be patient than spend a lot more money. I hope my login problem goes away soon. Then I'll be happy again. I'm almost ready to blow town. I have my hand sewing project prepped. For reading, I have a book about encouraging beneficial insects in the garden with native plants. Can't wait to start reading that one. Time to pack. Gonna bring my swim suit and my hiking boots. So sorry for your loss. I understand what you are going through. I lost my husband almost 3yrs ago suddenly. He went in the hospital on a Tuesday and was gone on Thursday. We thought he had a urinary track infection, but it turned out his kidneys and liver were shutting down. Email me if you want to talk.

What a terrible shock you're going through. Best thoughts and wishes your way. Taking a couple days is a great idea. I know you'll still have him on your minds of course but a little different scenery can be a good thing to help organize your thoughts. The paperwork will wait.

BTW, do you have access to a fax machine or could you use email for the paperwork?

My condolences to you and your family.

If you can, do take a few days off and go to that fishing cabin. Stay a week. As hard as it might be, try to get some quality sleep and rest. That is important for your well being. You've probably have the important paperwork under control; the remainder can wait. Chip away at the samll stuff and take your time, plenty of time, for making the big decisions.

Wow, I am deeply touched by your kind words of support. I am more of a lurker than a poster but have come to know that you are all one very special group of people.

I also know that so many of you have been through similar heart breaks, and my heart goes out to all of you. Life can be so tough at times, but we do manage to pull through with a "little help from our friends". :-)

OJ: We do have an amazing support group, it actually blows me away on how much we are being cared for. Thanks for your concern.

Had more to say but the phone keeps ringing and I've lost my train of thought.

Will be back later to fill in the blanks. Today is a better day, thanks to all you KT'ers. You truly ROCK!
