What a fantastic idea! I love sparkly glass out in the garden, and I just happen to have a few of those little glass birds packed away. I'd love to see them out like that. It sets them above the flowers just right. This idea would work for a lot of little 'stuff' to put out amongst the plants, I appreciate you sharing it. The knitting needles was a great idea to use for a stick. I don't have any around, but I am finding 101 uses for bamboo, which is readily available to me.

Hi Maureen, How are you. We havent talked for quite a while. I have a suet feeder with a suet cake in it. Its got a copper colored top and has 3 little glass beads that hang off the bottom. I hung it up for a month and it was completely ignored! Lol! I guess I will just stick to regular birdfeeders. If you are still looking for one just let me know. its great talking to you again! I agree, try to get him in your room. I have Cathedral celings too. The bird will tire and eventualy come down. Put out a water source and a nice dish of meal worms. Leave a light on at night so he can see them when the house is quiet to sustain him. He will weaken and you will get him. I think hes a goner if he cant get out of the pipe. He may be too weak to get out of it. Find a nice light pillow case or towel to throw over him and as Cathy says either let him rest in a dark bag/box or let him lose if it is daylight. Are you sure there is NOT a nest up there? Can you get a mirror to be sure? Dont want to mess with him if he is tending a nest and he realy CAN get out.

Thank you for such nice comments! Here's an even better part to the story! I discovered this morning that the pretty little bird is from the Fenton Glass Violets in the Snow collection! I can't believe someone would paint over such a pretty bird. The bad paint job though is probably why the thrift store had it priced it so cheap! LOL Carol is loving her Fenton glass bird. Now she says she wants more of the Violets in the Snow collection! LOL Bet I won't find other pieces for 50 cents! :o)
