Anyone have an idea? It could be a female but looks a bit different.

Tom, It's so cool that you're still seeing them. I've been watching but none yet. Here's a site that has month-by-month migration on Baltimore and Bullock Orioles: Oriole migration I couldn't find any info on whether the males and females migrate separately. It appears that they will winter in Florida from September through March. I found it interesting that older migration maps such as my Audubon Field Guide from 1977 (even found other maps online as late as 1985) show them wintering in Mexico and south with no mention of wintering in Florida. However, newer maps show Florida as a main wintering ground. Global warming? I know that they like sugar water and fruit juice, especially oranges, so I' not surprised they are using your hummingbird feeders. Enjoy your birds, Rhonda

catherinet: I've had several suet cages disappear - sometimes I find them farther away as if the coon got tired of carrying it and just ate the suet there. The jelly feeder was different. At first the dish disappeared, and I found one of them across the street, but the coon apparently learned that if it took the dish away across the street it would never refill. But if the coon dropped the empty dish under the feeder, I would put it back up and refill it. So every morning I'd find the empty dish neatly left under the feeder. I appreciated that and that's probably one of the reasons I was willing to share with the coon last year. And then there was the time I wondered why my hummingbird feeder that hung on the deck railing was empty every morning. I took the feeder off the deck and hung it on a shepherd's hook in the yard. oh wow my post was wordy lol.. think i wrote this when i was sick oops but thanks :) i might try jelly if i can coordinate it around the orchard oriole arrival in spring (based on ebird sightings in my location). i actually saw my very first oriole ever today... a wintering baltimore i'm guessing. it was in some crappy suburban yard near the beach with only one flowering plant and mostly just lawn ugh.. but that flower was a cape honeysuckle which makes me want one if they weren't so invasive. still not sure why they aren't being drawn to my tons of huge everblooming firebushes and bottlebrushes and 0 pesticides. think they hate me :P
