Crows and fledglings

I noticed crows very interested in my Mountain Bluebird house, increasing #s as it got closer to fledging time. I was very concerned for the safety of the fledglings and I happened to find a road-kill Raven 3 days before the chicks were due to fledge. I hung it on a pole about 3 fence posts away from the nest box. Three sets of crows flew by, each set getting bigger and bigger. About 3 hours after I hung the Raven up 17 crows flew by and then I didn't see any crows for the rest of the day. The crow activity has picked up a little bit on the perimeters of our property but the chicks have fledged (3 days after the Raven was hung up) so I think at least they got out of the nest box safely. I found another road kill Raven yesterday and it is in the freezer in case I get a second clutch here.
