Phoebes nesting on my speaker

Elise

Hi,

I am lucky to have sweet pretty Eastern Phoebes nesting on my deck. Interestingly, one of them seems very dark - almost like a Black Phoebe, and the other one is light.....would they ever mix???

But anyway, my problem is that they chose this not very convenient spot, on top of one of my deck speakers.

I am most happy to oblige them by not using my music on the deck while their one little nestling comes along...she hatched on Saturday!! So cute!!!

But I have read that they will want to use the same nest over and over, year after year....I hate the thought of ruining their home, but can I never use my music again?????

Another aside but maybe this site they chose isn't such a great one anyway.....Originally, I found 2 eggs on the ground under the nest. I thought the nest had been abandoned, but as I said, now we have 1 baby (hope it's not a cowbird!!). I don't know what happened, but maybe it's not a very safe place anyway....

Please advise me about what I could or should do....

thanks
