Asian pears--so much easier than apples. Hosui is great but you'll need another asian variety too for better fruit set. Don't put them side by side or you'll spend too much time thinning. Brown turkey figs are hardy enough for your climate. Takes a while before you get enough to sell though. The oriental persimmon ichi ki kei jiro is everything you ask for. Check it out. I grow all of these and never have to spray. I always thought we were in zone 7 but when I typed my zip code into a zone calculator I came up 6-b

I have something that has never happened to me before. A tomato vine that is over 7 ft. tall and healthy as any of the rest. It grew as well as the other vines if not better. It started blooming at the same time as all the rest but it has never made one tomato. As a matter of fact it has blooms on it right now. The other vines have been producing tomatoes and starting on their forth/fifth round, but this vine just sets there growing taller and blooming but not making one fruit. Do you suppose it is sterile or something. If it's pollen was sterile I'd think one of the other plants pollen would pollinize the blooms or could the blooms be sterile and barren? Has anyone else ever had something like this in their garden?

I had what sounds like the same issue last summer. Every tomato stayed green for way way longer than normal, I cut down on how much I was watering them and then I cleared most of the leaves low down and let the sun in, all the tomatoes started turning their reds a week after I did that, not sure if this helps but it worked for me, maybe try it on one of the plants?
