Comments (5)Hi, digdirt and yiorges, thanks so much for your help with the lantana seeds info. Im going to try some tonight. I hybridize cannas, so i know how to get them to grow, im usually on the brugmansia forum. Ive never had luck with the lantana seeds, going to try them this way. Do the lantana seeds grow true to type or not? as with cannas only the species varieties grow true to type. should i expect different looking lantana plants or smimilar to the parent plants? Thanks again so much for your help, i really apprecite it, Siam....See MoreOT: POTD: Look how a few days bring changes to this Lantana
Comments (7)Siam I know, cause Hubby will not be after I get back and they are dead rofl. Just kidding. I do my best every day and with the heat increasing...it is even hard for me to keep em all happy. Maddy and I sure will have a great time. I wish I lived closer to the other 2 grandkids. But not complaining. Pam my neighbors are all sickly and up there in age. I mean really up there. You know, like a little boy says to mommy at the store...look mom, this lady is REALLY old. Well...I guess through out life....when you look at someone who is a LOT OLDER....you just can not help yourself lol I like this Lantana too. Have a few other colors. But for Amadeus' resting place I found a white one at Lowes and not a plain purple one that I have already. But purple with pinkish white blooms also. Comments (4)I have grown lantanas in containers for many years--mostly as hanging baskets. They do indeed reach three feet and even four feet BUT they are hanging down, not growing straight up. The straight up part is probably not even one foot. I would never try to mix them with other plants in a container--just not enough room--but maybe I'm wrong and I'd love to hear how yours do. I should also mention that I Miracle Gro every single day--1/4 teaspoon of the fert to one gallon of water. I do this with all my flowering containers for maximum bloom....See Moreroselee z8b S.W.
