OMG you mean i get to get MORE insane than i am NOW??? OHHHHHH NOOOOOO!!!! LOL she drives me absolutely NUTS now!! that girl is only 6 and she "think" she has to act like a 13-16 yr old! and we wont' even talk about the boys, her idea of .....well lets just say, the boys pick on her, and we told her that they might be doing that because they like her, so she said that "well, ohhhh i'll just have to kick their butt!! " LOL now that's just bad!! and believe me, that girl could do it! her brother irritates her, she'll wait a few then go over and just WHOP that boy right in his jaw and he's just stunned. LOL and she just walks away like nothing ever happened. yes that boy did that. he did a great job!! :') i told him i was gonna post it and he was like MOM you better NOT!!!! i am sooooo mean!! LOL but a very proud mommmy!! and yes i do have a garden, and one that i'm proud of, just one though. HEE HEE HEE

Well, I finally figured out where the Orioles are nesting. They are not nesting in the Pin Oak again, but in the Linden tree on the other side of the house! After I noticed the female pulling on the fibers from the old nest, I decided to put out some more cat fur for her to use in the nest (Orioles will collect animal fur to line the inside of the nest). Every Spring in late March/early April I fill a large suet cage with cat fur. My sister has long-haired cats and she collected the fur when she brushes them. I "fluff" the fur up and put it in the cage and it's usually gone within a few weeks because the birds and even the red squirrels collect it for their nests. This time I only put out a little fur. The Tufted Titmouse and the Oriole female collected it all within 2 days. Here she is collecting tufts of fur that fell on the ground - And here she is bringing a little fur to the nest!

She's never taken him to a doctor!?! At least he's had his shots. I hate to say this, but you may have to let him sit in front of the tv to get him to eat anything. Does he actually eat, when he's there, or does he pick and play? My son has weird eating habits, in that he doesn't always like to stay at the table and sit down to eat. He got into the bad habit of running around (esp. during lunch) and taking bites here and there, but he does eat, so I don't fuss too much. Of course you know, that they are going through growth spurts, and sometimes he may really not be hungry or want anything. If you could find a way to make the table more pleasurable, maybe by adding confetti to it, tying balloons to the chairs, lighting candles (under close supervision) then he'd be more inclined to come sit and eat. Also, does he have any favorite foods? I read an article today where the child loved pancakes but wouldn't eat her veggies, so the mother pureed carrots and things and poured it into pancake batter, and the child ate it up! Also, forgo the highchair. My son never really used one. He did have a booster type seat with a tray. I think that maybe at this age, he just doesn't want to be confined. My son didn't at age 2. I really hope this helps. Please keep us informed, I'd love to hear if there is any progress. And, is there any way you could take him to the pediatrician yourself? Your daughter may be mad at you, but hey, you'd be helping keep your grandson healthy. Just a thought.

SO and I actually enjoy healthy food more than unhealthy, that's one reason we are together, we have a similar palette! If it's healthy and tasty, it makes us happy. Maybe loaded potato skins would be good, since dad loves them. Or loaded sweet potatoes, which I just saw a recipe for the other day. Dad loves sweet potatoes too. I could make ones stuffed with marshmallows and sugar for dad (the way he likes sweet potatoes, and some veggies for SO and I, like maybe broccoli with chicken and spicy peanut sauce, since SO loves broccoli). As far as "fun," everyone included loves guacamole and also squash, but I agree that it can't be the main feature. I didn't know chicken wings came boneless, that would be good. SO would love some spicy wings to go with that assortment!
