Are my babies back?

My first bluebirds fledged 2 weeks ago. I cleaned out the nest and hoped Mom and Dad would nest again. The past couple of days I noticed one male blue bird perching on the nestbox. There was no female with him and he appeared to be alone. Then yesterday I noticed a female also hanging out with him, but she is not going in building a nest, they only seem to be using the nestbox and the tree next to it as a perch to watch for food.

Then, this morning I finally saw 3 females and 2 males in the same area. I now wonder if these are the babies that fledged 2 weeks ago, since there doesn't appear to be any nesting going on?? It's hard to closely watch the activity since the box is such a long distance away, I can see movement but have to use binoculars to see the birds. I'm watching from my home office so I can't spend all day holding binoculars... I'm supposed to be working! haha

Fledglings do not look like adult birds so you probably are not seeing the babies back if you can easily tell there were 3 females and 2 males but the time frame is right for them to return to the nestbox to start on the second nesting. Just keep watching and checking the box, maybe soon they will start on the second nest or maybe you will get a new pair.

I'm wondering if I have a new pair now, since they seem to be "shopping" for a home. The male that has been perched on the box almost all day now, seems a brighter blue than the last one, but I can't be sure. Once today, I saw the male and female both come out of the box, but there isn't any nest building going on. I've never seen 5 blue birds together in my yard before, so that's why I thought maybe they were the babies returning. If the same couple returned, wouldn't they already be familiar with the box and started nesting by now?

I too was given a mini rose bush from my boyfriend a few years ago and it dried up and turned brown like it was burnt. I have alot of aloe Vera plant and I figured the plant heals burns on humans so I clipped off a spear and cut it in half and squeezed out the gel and planted Aloe Vera spear in rose bud dirt. In a few weeks the mini rose bush cane back to life and out grew it's planter pot,do I carefully transplanted it in a larger container,suprisingly the roots looked odd Like big onion bulbs like seaweed,not resembling roses or Aloe Vera roots,anyway the plant lasted for six to eight months longer than the dried up burnt dead stage that was the previous state of mini roses. Hopefully this true story will help you with having your rose bush come back to life. I'm curious why the root structure changed so drastically do any exoerts know why the roots. I have 10 more coming in November and will have to over winter them in a friend's greenhouse. Of course, I don't have a clue as to where I will plant them, but I have decided to pass along a few roses to make room. They are good roses and I'll be able to see them in my friend's garden, so they are not really gone. Sharing good roses also helps to make room for new roses. Smiles, Lyn

I planted Baby Cecile Brunner as a border plant but had to move it to the back of the rose bed. It's now about 6 feet tall. It grows upright, not sprawly at all. Perhaps it has decided to be a climber and not a mini. It doesn't look like its parent Cecile Brunner, Climbing but must have some of its tendencies. Can't you move your rose and see what happens? I'm the same way. When school is getting ready to let out, most parents are complaining about having their kids underfoot all summer....I'm excited! We do so many fun things together, and have lots of one on one time. When school starts, it gets so quiet around the house without her and her friends playing in the house or yard. I miss it.
