Weather differences

Has anyone noticed different behaviors of the nesting adults based on weather / time of year?

We just noticed today that the 2nd clutch fledged - must have been yesterday.

During the first batch of 5, the weather of course was much much cooler. The parents behavior around us as we brought worms & checked the box was very different than it was with this 2nd group of 5. They didn't stray far from the box, and when we visited the area, they went to the nearest small tree maybe 25 feet away & sat & made cute burbley noises at us until we left.

This time they did not spend as much time in the immediate vicinity that we could tell, and when we check the box / bring worms, they flew much higher & farther away, at the top of a young poplar maybe 120 feet away, then returned at their leisure it seemed. The only difference we can tell is the weather. I do believe this crowd fledged a day or so sooner too. Maybe the parents wanted to get those kiddos OUT before box temps hit their highs for the day, along with the rest of us.

Everything looking good! We have two empty boxes now - we'll see who goes where & when. The 2nd box is a little larger, in a more shaded & cooler afternoon location, but further from the house, food, and water.

*sigh* what will we DO now? Once again there's nothing to look out the windows for......
