My home is fifty years old... the bulges have become more noticeable over the past 30 years since I move in. It is particularly noticeable on my stairwell. Not at all noticeable in the one room I redid 15 years ago and replaced the wallboar in that room at that time. I suspect the difference is a combination of accumulated years and the fact that the original sheet rock was nailed and the recent wallboard was screwed in.

I am in a high rise condo which has water intrusion isses and I was on the Board for a number of years so I dealt with a LOT of the units having some kind of issue. In my experience they can occur for a number of reason - intrusion can occur through exterior walls but that is unlikely since it isn't an exterior wall although water in a multiunit building travels weirdly The common area pipes can have a leak which is not uncommon in older buildings .In my. In my building this can be either a sudden burst or a slow leak. Units above you can have some kind of leak - either an overflowing toilet or sink OR some kind of slower leak from their fixtures - e.g, a leak in the shower or the pipes. My crazy neighbor who lived on the 12th floor decided to DIY some kind of plastic hosing and created a flood that went down to the lobby. I was below and to one side so only one wall in my unit got slightly damp but a section of the dry wall had to be replaced. When the wall was opened up, it turned out that the exposed pipes (which belonged to the buliding) were in bad shape so the building decided to repair that section of the pipes so they wouldn't have an issue inevitably down the line. I handled it through my insurance company and the building paid for the new pipes plus the larger section of drywall which had to be taken down to fully access the pipes. My insurance company paid for my damages - less my deductible - and then did a subrogation claim against the other homeowner. Since the damages he caused were literally in the millions of dollars and he had not much insurance, there wasn't a pot left to divide so I wound up "eating" my deductible. You should contact the management company because responsibility for fixing the damage AND correcting the issue depends on what the cause is. In general the common area pipes are the responsiblility of the building. Issues caused by another homeowner are the resposibiity of the homeowner and YOU are responsible for issues that are inside the four walls of your unit.

Definitely looks like mouse damage and droppings. Maybe its a good thing, you decided to buy a new range. You could have had a fire there. Call an electrician and have that all redone, and make sure this time, its also mounted in the wall, rather than just laying behind the range, where it could get kinked and deteriorate. You need to know if the new range, has the same type of plug on it, so you know exactly which range outlet you need. That one is old, so chances are, your new range wont work with it anyway. The papers that come with the range, will be needed for the electrician. Those papers tell the electrician, what your new range needs to operate properly.

Thanks for everyone’s input. I do believe that floral is quite correct about what it is. I’ve read up on it and was a little concerned about it being toxic to horses as I did have (until 3 weeks ago) two horses that could access it. Both horses were/are older horses and the 26 year old Morgan died suddenly 3 weeks ago but he had been diagnosed with equine Cushings so I’m pretty sure that is what he died from. His death showed no signs of poisoning nor did he exhibit any signs when he was alive. Plus, there was no sign of ”the plant” having been grazed. My other horse, the American paint, Chex, was moved to a neighbours shortly after Shadow died and I don’t plan on keeping horses any longer so I’m not concerned about it being toxic to horses. I’m waiting for it to flower and then I will post the photo. beckysharp, I got my nine holes of golf in this morning and plan on hunkering down in the shade tomorrow.🌞
