First Impressions of Black From Tula, L.R. Cherry , J. Black Trif

My first heirloom tomato garden and I am starting to get my first ripe ones. Expecting that heirlooms (as defined by anything from SSE (lol)) would be better than my Walmart seeds from last year, I was disappointed with LRC and J. Trif. Both mealy and pretty tasteless. Oh well, they are destined for gaspacho. I wondered if I had overfertilized with N except that I primarily fertilized before they had any blossoms. Also, the tomatoes are producing prolifically so I am guessing it is not a matter of overfert. Then I wondered about the fairly heavy rain Syracuse has been getting but my Black From Tula is amazingly good so now I am wondering if the other two are just kinda blah varieties. Any other opinions on LRC or JBT? Will they get better as the season goes on? I was at Tomatopalooza in NC a few weeks back and I wasn't impressed with JBT there either.
