Please let us know the area of the country this was taken in. It is really hard to tell from the photo, but the long tail and undertail pattern and general shape of the bird lead me to believe it is a Blue-gray Gnatcatcher.

It just wasn't around long enough for a better look. It seems unlike the birds I am familiar with. A Gnatcatcher would be a lifer for me. Too bad thats all I could come up with. I will go to the same spot. Maybe I will get lucky.

My birding knowledge consists mostly of photos ID'd on this website. These smaller birds are tough to take photos of. So it is mostly large birds I know. I am thankful for all the help people have offered over the past couple years. Here is another chickadee looking fellow that I wondered about.

That little thing is a White-breasted Nuthatch.
