I'm convinced the Humminzinger type is the best. I don't have trouble with them leaking like some of the others do and bees and wasps are not as much of a problem with them.

I agree with bob414. Using the Hummizinger is great. No leaks and it is very easy to clean. Been using one for 4-5 years.

i get both hummingbirds and orioles here and they both share the same feeders. so i get feeders that the orioles can perch on. i use the plain sugar and water mix without the red dye, 4 cups water to 1 cup sugar. one oriole feeder is orange and green and the other red base and clear glass. i prefer the glass over plastic cause its so much easier to clean and sanatize I soak a feeder in a pail of water with a few drops of bleach overnight to kill any bacteria. and then rinse them. since the hummingbirds are so small and my eyesight so poor i have the feeders close to the kitchen window.

Hummingbirds use Oriole feeders. They hover so they don't have to perch. Here's a link to an Oriole feeder that is the same type as the Hummzinger. They are the easiest I know of to clean. They come completely apart and you can put them on the upper shelf of a dishwasher if you want. It also holds an orange half and has places for grape jelly in addition to the sugar water. I have a new one that I have seen the Hummingbirds use and here is a picture of the first Oriole I have seen using the new feeder:

Another vote for the Hummzinger. I have the small size because my hummingbirds don't share, but they have a bigger size if you live somewhere where you get a lot feeding at one time.

They are so easy to clean, you will never have to worry about mold. That was a problem for me with other types of feeders. You can fill the well in the middle with tap water to keep out ants, earwigs and whatever else.

They're worth the initial investment.

I also prefer the saucer types and use a Hummzinger. They don't leak and are less likely to attract wasps and yellow jackets. Plus they're super easy to clean, and have the ant moat built in.

I love the cheap WalMart ones with bee guards

I have a Droll Yankees hummingbird feeder which I got on sale a couple of years ago. I like the perches since the hummers can sit if they want. When they're very active they hover, but sometimes they just seem to want to kick back and rest.

The hook makes it difficult to put onto my shepherd's hook without tilting the feeder, so I often hang it from a plastic baffle which serves as an umbrella when it rains (like in this photo).
