Thank Gawd Brandy wasn't there for this. One look at those guys in camo and she'd be thanking them for their service! LOL! :-))) "Many folks don't realize that MOST hunters are the greatest conservationists this country has..." True. But there are some huge nut jobs in that crowd too. Like any other group, you got your good apples and then a few rotten ones. The Wildlife Management Area where I ride from time to time borders some land leased by a hunting club. Some of this maze of trails leading to one mountain summit goes through their property. Recently a fellow biker reported that someone has nailed a beheaded wild boar to a tree with a NO TRESPASSING sign attached to him/her. What a cruel and wasteful way to deliver a message. *LOVE* the OUTSTANDING organization that was put forth as seen in that 4th pic.

Cute pics! Reminds me I better check my birdhouse on the patio. This morning I saw a chickadee sitting on top of it. It's really only for decoration but maybe she was thinking of moving in! Not sure it would be safe for them as the hole is quite large and predator birds could get in. It originally was blocked so birds didn't nest in it but that piece has fallen off. We have lots of trees and leave most snags in the woods for nesting as well and feel it's best for them to nest in their natural habitat.

I would not put a suet block on top of a birdhouse, just draws in other birds which is one thing you do not want to do. If you know they will eat suet you could put it near where you see them perching alot but not on the nestbox. Not all blues will eat suet though especially if there are plenty of live bugs. Swaying in the wind won't keep them away from a nestbox, most nestboxes do sway some in the wind. Will be interesting to see which box they choose. Good luck! Donna

What a very handsome Daddy! It always amazes me when these birds check out each other's housing. They seem to be so curious about who's taking up residence. This morning a brown headed nuthatch landed briefly on the bb box, tried to peek in, but the new Daddy Blue swooped down and chased him off, obviously while Mama was on a brief break. The BHNU nested here last year in a box on the opposite side of the yard, but not this year to my disappointment...but I was just as thrilled to have the dees! Sounds like you have alot of action going on. Hope all continues to go well. Donna
