Thanks for that ID help. I will label them and add them to my bird photo album. Love to have new additions to the album this early in the season. Also had a Snowy Owl this year.

Hi David 👋 Thank you for the id. I have been reading a lot and I guessed that my first photo was a pubicalyx, I'm happy for the confirmation. Could the second one be cummingiana? I have picked up a few more, photos below. Krimson queen? Krimson princess? I could use an id for this last one. I've found similar photos that are labeled finlaysonii and clemensiorum, but I'm not sure which (if either) precisely match mine. Any thoughts? Thank you again, it's a pleasure 'meeting' you 🤗

#1 is Sand Coreopsis, Coreopsis lanceolata. #3, The foliage looks like a Boltonia species to me. The white midveins and leaf veins match. (?)

Crunchpa.......You are soooooo lucky to have seen a snowy owl!!
One summer I had a green heron that hung around in a sycamore tree. Wish it would come back.

Several years ago, I started to have phobes hang around. This year, they've built a nest on the side of our chimney. They are such well-behaved birds!

I loved seeing the Snowy Owls (5 of them). Probably never happen again. Glad I took the time to hike to the area that they were initially seen. They scattered after a couple weeks. They put a transponder on one of them to follow its whereabouts.I like seeing Herons, we don't have the green ones around. At least I have not seen any. I visited a local Eagle nest that has been very productive over the years. It seems they are having more eaglets. The pair were hanging around along with a immature one nearby. Looked to be a couple years old. A very big one. I was surprised because I thought they were more territorial than that.

The nest size is incredible. Its a great time to visit the area. You are going to see an eagle at least. The other half of the pair was lurking in a nearby tree. Not near enough for my point and shoot. They have posed for me before though, so I don't feel slighted.I don't think they feel disturbed and have become accustomed to visitors. I saw a nest on a lightpole right on the Interstate last week. A busy locale to say the least. I found it odd up here. I have seen the Osprey and Eagles do that in Florida. Our numbers must be healthy in Pennsylvania. I see many more than when I grew up. When you saw none.

Great pics Crunchpa!
I only saw a bald eagle once, and I was driving on the interstate with lots of traffic, so I couldn't look too long! Those nests are incredible! I wonder how long it takes them to build it?

What part of PA are you from? I lived in New Castle for awhile when I was little.
