It's a Peruvian lily (sometimes called a 'princess' lily), Alstroemeria hybrid. It is not a true lily but a fleshy rooted perennial - the clusters of tubers it produces are really water storage organs. Makes a great, longlasting cut flower.

thanks for a quick reply, im in New Zealand, it's our first month of summer here and was thinking about making the new cutting now to get the benefit of the summer for the new cuts, thoughts on doing it in summer or waiting until next spring? Interesting mention about sun exposure, looking for spots around the house to keep these new cactis around, i have a spot that get's early morning sun and stays there until late evening sun, another spot that get's direct sunlight only 12pm up to 6pm. And another spot that's got heavy growth that has filter light pretty much all day long with short instances of direct sunlight. Hard to find day/night cycles if you can shead any 'light' on these questions would be legend. Thanks in advance and for your help previously.

Don't know what Kinder eggs are but this plant is fine. I'm aware some OTHER Euphorbias have toxic sap, some of which can cause skin irritation & in severe cases eye injury, I don't believe Euph milii has the same situation. I am one of the folks who consistently cautions folks abt Euph sap, like E. trigona, E. lactea or E. tirucalli (is that the Firesticks?) I handle this E. milii plant w/ bare hands & don't give it a second thought. I've pruned, trimmed cut & re-rooted, w/ no problems at all. That said, E miliis are easy care, very rewarding plants. Tho' they ARE succulents, they like far more water & fertilizer than one would normally give succulents. Once I started following that advice, my Miliis bloom (indoors) 6-8 months of the year. They also want the most & best light you can give them. Even direct sun (after gradual exposure). Your mix could use lots more perlite, like 50% more. Glad to learn the plant's not nearsighted ;>)
