I recall reading that sometimes the mother Bluebird will stay on the nest during monitoring and recall someone had posted pics of it recently. Never had that happen though (except on TRES nestings) until this afternoon. I went to check the nestboxes at the park and opened one to find momma Blue staring at me. She had gotten up and was facing the hole like she might fly out but just sat there looking over at me (it is a side opening box) I told her it was ok, she could stay there and I slowly closed the box. How I wish I would of had my camera with me but I am not sure if I would have taken a pic if I did, wouldn't of wanted to scare her off. Sooo I am guessing she has started incubating, still not sure how many eggs she has though, there were 3 on Monday. Could be 4 or 5 if she laid one this morning. I don't think I have ever been so close to the adult blues before, nestlings yes but not the adults. It was something I will remember for a long time.
