TRES eggs hatching soon? 50's forecasted!

Not good! Today, it was around 60 in the morning. the temperature has since dropped and it is now exactly 50.

I don't have exact records, but these eggs were layed about a week ago. I do know that 15 days is average for swallows. there are 4 eggs being incubated.

Tomorrow's high is 49 with rain and 40 MPH winds. It isn't forecast to return to around 60 until wednesday. I can see tiny black dots on the eggs (pipping?)

All I can do is pray that the eggs hatch Tuesday or Wednesday. last year I had a clutch of 5 bluebirds starve to death in early May after it got down to 52 and was rainy and windy. Looks like this year might just be a repeat except it's the swallows this time.

Also, I have an update on the blues nesting next to them. The new female buried the 2 old eggs, covered with nesting material, and layed her 1st egg today! Maybe it's a better thing my blues are behind this year...because things aren't looking too good for the swallows and at my other site they are losing out to HOSP. I've tried Van Ert trapping but the weather got too cold and one I wasn't careful enough with one and it amazingly managed to escape. So far not getting anywhere this nesting season. Getting a DSRT soon because the sparrows are getting out of hand at site # 2.
