Do Birds Like the Berries from a Flowering Dogwood Kouza?

I just purchased a pink Cornus kouza "Satomi" for my front yard, I've wanted one for so long but didn't have the room until the severe ice storm we had this past December ruined the rose of sharon I had out front and a few other trees too! The tree removal guy that I hired was able to ground the rose of sharon down to mulch so I now have a spot to plant the dogwood. The berries in the fall are supposed to be strawberry like and I'm wondering whether or not the birds will eat them. I wanted a flowering tree with berries for this specific reason, I want to help out the birds in the winter, although I do have feeders in my yeard too.

Anyone else have a Kousa Satomi?

Thank you,

Linda
