Neighbors are fighting very loudly, & Now DH is out on OT so I def won't fall asleep. El, I Wish we had a place like that around here! I wanted to buy DD a couple venus fly traps, she's been wanting them for a few months, but HD wants $8 for a teeny tiny lil one. I remember when I bought mine ..o geez, I was gonna say a few yrs back, but its more than that.. More like 15 maybe 16, o lordy, lol..I only paid $2.99, if that. My cats ate them though. DH who was BF at the time bought me a bunch more, and the cats ate them again. So what did she get last Sunday instead? Mice...both the older kids got 2 mice each, I made them get females, and it turns out one of DD's is prego. greeaaaat!!! yes, that was sarcastic, lol. Venus Fly Traps woulda been cheaper. Rigo, I like that ponytail palm! I have been tempted to get one myself every time I see them at HD, but I know my cat and the puppy will destroy it. Hello, Caroline! Yes, those would be the red chilies sold in large bags in the aisle for Mexican foods. They come in different strengths of heat. Usually, if they are hot, there is a prominent "hot" on the label. The corn pudding is typical. I use one egg per half cup of 1/2&1/2, salt and pepper, about a quarter cup of corn per half cup of liquid. I put a couple of bits of butter on top of each pudding. I use buttered individual ramekins, or a souffle dish, to bake corn pudding (at 350). It isn't necessary to bake corn pudding in a bain marie. If one pokes a finger and the center seems firm, or the top is lightly browned, the pudding is done. For a medium (individual) ramekin the baking time is about forty minutes, for a souffle dish the time is about an hour. I don't spice corn pudding. I think it is good for clearing the palate, when eating spicy foods. It should be served straight from the oven because it falls pretty fast. Using cream instead of 1/2&1/2 produces a richer product, but not worth the extra calories and fat to my way of thinking. When I have leftover corn pudding, I often eat it cold for breakfast topped with maple syrup. Lorna

"I am somewhat uneducated on what an alchohol evaluation entails, and not being much of a drinker -- I dont mean to be pessemetic, but is it something that if you have some notice, you can fake your way through it." Good question! DH asked the same thing today. He was concerned, as well. Because this is court ordered, and because it will be done at a state treatment center, ALL the court records will be sent over ahead of time. So whoever does the evaluation will have seen the police report, the GAL's report, and the court order. Don't forget, too, BM had a DWI a few yrs ago and she blew so high on the breathalyzer that she had to do a special SATOP lock-down weekend at a hotel. They only do this for people whose blood alcohol level is extremely high. This is on her record. So BM can sit there and say "oh, I don't have a problem" but my guess is that's going to be tough to argue when the evaluator has all the facts on the table. I would expect (hope) that these people are trained well and know that many addicts/alcoholics will lie and deny, deny, deny. ANOTHER added bonus to DH paying for the evaluation is that DH will also be "interviewed." This is really good! Our attorney also said the evaluator will most definitely want to meet with the GAL on the case, as well. AND we also found out that the CURRENT GAL had contacted the old GAL we had for the school district---to get his thoughts on everything--and he said BM definitely has a problem that needs to be addressed. He said that was his impression before, but that there just wasn't any concrete reason to investigate further.
