The Return of the Bulbs Forced for Christmas

Last year I forced some paperwhites for Christmas presents, and that turned out very well. This year I thought I'd do it again, with a different bulb. I need some advice choosing a new project.

I revisited the thread from last year, which as expected devolved into me and Cynthia drooling over bulbs. I got some ideas from that thread, and now I need to fine-tune my plan.

I like freesias and giant anemones, both of which are listed as indoor bulbs with Van Engelen, my go-to company for bulbs. However, it says to keep the plants at around 60 degrees. Now, my house is really never 60 degrees. Will they really not bloom if not kept cool?

I've thought about combining something with muscari, since that's easy enough. How does muscari do when forced? How long does it take?

Tulips are out - too long of a chilling period. Amaryllis are a little pricey. Anyone ever tried the following ...

Colochortus?

Brodiaea?

Thanks so much!
