question to experts - non agile female

Ok, my female this year has had real trouble getting into the hole on her nest box. I've seen her attempt it many times before she's able to get in there.

I just caught a wren in my trap house, so next nesting will HAVE to have a guard.

What can I do to help her without making the entrance easier for predetors?

Right now there isn't a hole guard, that may help. Maybe if the hole guard is a tad bigger? She does have a tight squeeze coming through the 1 1/2" holes in my mealworm feeder, I've seen it. Could she be big for a bluebird?

Can we put kerf on the outside? or anything else I can do?
